309 Your gift to God
Mat 2:9 After they had listened to the king, they went away; and the star which they had seen in the east went in front of them until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.
Mat 2:10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
Mat 2:11 Upon entering the house, they saw the child with his mother Miryam; and they prostrated themselves and worshipped him. Then they opened their bags and presented him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
I thought the Magi came to Messiah Yeshua and He was in a stable? I thought Yoseph, Miriam and the baby were among the animals? But if we look closely at the word of God in verse 11 it says house and not stable or barn. G3614 οἰκία oikia Thayer Definition: 1) a house 1a) an inhabited edifice, a dwelling 1b) the inmates of a house. When these men the Magi brought their gifts Yosef & Miryam and baby Yeshua were not in the stable with the cows? But I have always seen that in every movie or in scenes at Churches it was in a stable. So who went to the stable and what did they bring? Luk 2:16 Hurrying off, they came and found Miryam and Yosef, and the baby lying in the feeding trough.
Luk 2:17 Upon seeing this, they made known what they had been told about this child;
Luk 2:18 and all who heard were amazed by what the shepherds said to them.
Luk 2:19 Miryam treasured all these things and kept mulling them over in her heart.
So lets gets this straight the Jewish Shepherds brought a confirming word to Messiah’s family and the pagan, idol worshipping Magi brought gifts…hum sounds very interesting. Please take the time to listen to this in-depth message about the Messiah’s birth, the word and those three gifts the Magi brought and how it applies to us today.
