Psalm 62:11-12 "One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are stong, and that you, O Lord, are love. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done."
It is one thing to know God as powerful Creator, infinite, all knowing, pre-existent One. How much greater the joy of knowing Him as intimate Husband, love of my soul, sacred Friend. When we know God as Lord, and relate to him as a servant relates to a good master, we may do good work out of obedience to Him. Work is the result of one ruling or directing another, fruit is only the result of a union between two. For this reason, God made himself known in the person of Jesus. He wants to be around us, he wants to be intimately involved with us -- He wants to be as near to us as we'll let Him get. And so, on that Christmas morning 2000 years ago Yahweh became Emmanuel, "God with us."
