September 27, 2008. Tachikawa, Tokyo.
Central Tokyo has a huge bike scene. But, in the outskirts of Tokyo, in the "bedtowns", in the 'burbs, there are also many blossoming bike communities. Like in Tachikawa. It's a fair trek from central Tokyo (about 2-2.5 hours bike ride), but a few of the boys from Setagaya made it out to Tachikawa this last Saturday for "Faret Cycle Night". Kind of an alleycat without the actual alleycat race. There were a ton of competitions, but the ones I participated in I did not videotape. So, missing from this video are: the long skid comp., the money pick-up comp., the standing comp., and the footdown comp.
Expect to see the Tachikawa riders at more of the Central Tokyo events. Sweet, mellow kids.
