Boundary for Creativity. Art exam piece.
The idea i am mostly trying to express in my video is the idea that it does not matter, in terms of audience, what music you make- it could be very expressive- it would still relate to a niche audience: but it is how the director potrays the music artists in the music video, which is generally in order to reflect stereotypes in the music industry for profit in the future.
This is manufactured work not creativity.
I have used stop motion in order to present music video techniques and camera angles. (Seen in White Stripes- Hardest button to button.)
Using bubbles as a literal boundary i present the artist breaking free from this portrayal gradually.
I show the artist and the directors relationship and the performance mode of the musician and the real time movements off camera, as she switches off from the stereotype.
Hard to explain, any thoughts appreciated
