Ruth White is a fabric artist from Varna NY and a member of the "Quilt Divas" (thequiltdivas.com)- an association of quilt & fabric artists from the Fingerlakes region of Upstate New York.

The Quilt Divas created an art quilt to benefit the "Dining for Women" charity (diningforwomen.org) - an organization of women helping women that donates funds to charities that empower women & girls throughout the developing world.

Ruth created a panel inspired by "The Equilibrium Fund" (theequilibriumfund.org), where she created an intensely detailed representation of the Equilibrium Fund's Maya Nut program, which encourages Central American and Mexican families to cultivate the Maya Nut rainforest tree for sustainable food and income.

During this interview Ruth discusses why she chose this topic for her panel, and the wealth of details, Mayan symbolism, and Maya nut recipes literally woven into her design - Ruth truly "colors outside the lines" of traditional fabric art.

Bruce McKee (brucemckee.org) - interview, video, & video editing.

Sheryl Sinkow (sinkowphotography.com) - high-resolution quilt photo used for quilt closeup shots.
