On average, our food travels 4.000 km before it hits our plates. This makes the food sector one of the biggest energy consumers. Fortunately there’s a growing awareness coming to cities in the form of Urban Farming. This however, remains a fringe activity and therefore often goes unnoticed. The Boatanic will transform existing tourist boats into floating greenhouses by combining existing know-how to create an unprecedented solution for growing and selling biological food within the inner city.
