After the good feedback for my article about the Magic Lantern Firmware for the Canon 550D / Rebel T2i i did the video about the rack focus feature once again.
The 550D was equipped with the 50 mm f1.8 which has not the best AF, but it works fine with the rack focus. I found many request for such a tutorial, so i hope this clip helps you out.
A written step by step instruction by Steve from die ML Group here on vimeo (thanks for that):
1.Set [Focus dir:] to NEAR
2.Scroll down to [Focus A:] press Set to reset [Focus A:] to 0 (zero)
3.Exit ML menu > focus on the nearst object of interest the normal way by pressing
camera shutter half way down
4.Bring up ML menu again > scroll to [Focus dir:] > set to FAR
5.Exit ML menu again > press the zoom button (top right corner of Camera) and use
up-down-left-right arrow buttons to find farest object of interest
6.Bring up ML menu again > press * button (next to zoom button) to step focus
7.Scroll to [Rack Focus] press record then press Rack Focus
My big thanks goes also to Alex from the ML Team. He asked to put this clip to vimeo. So here it is.
If you have further question just write me a message here on vimeo or via the contact form on my site.
