nice job. What did you use to hold the camera in the back seat?
  • Ronnie Bruce 3 years ago
    Just a regular camera tripod.
  • Clintus McGintus 3 years ago
wow, and it didn't ever fall over or get knocked around? Or did you have to tie it down? Either way, great work.
  • Ronnie Bruce 3 years ago
Yea I used some string to keep it steady, but I had to reach back a few times to keep it extra steady on turns.

Awesome... I want to try it in my car driving through Boston! Let's do a dual one when you come visit.

pretty cool effect... though I would probably have moved the Canon lens cap off the seat! Also there are a few frames where you can see the shadow of the tripod... I think there are some other clamp type devices you could look at for mounting the camera, like a Bogen Magic Arm... or a window clamp..

How'd you get it to fire every 2.5 seconds without reaching back and pushing the button? I've got the same camera and would love to try doing one of these
  • Ronnie Bruce 3 years ago
You can buy a remote, I'm not sure of the part number for the rebel. But with a remote you can set you camera to automatically go off every X amount of seconds/minutes. Or What I did was I used my graphing calculator from high school and programmed it to fire every 1.5 seconds, which is a lot cheaper.

    Entertaining, short and well composed.
I like the lens cap on the seat,
the tripod at the back of the car
and that feeling of being there.
    thanks for the upload.

this is neat man, I can totally see this as a VW commercial. Do most cameras have a setting where they take a picture every 2.5 seconds?
  • Ronnie Bruce 3 years ago
Most SLR's require a remote timer, not many have it built in

Hey man... love this video. I think me and my friends are going to attempt this sometime this summer. What did you do to the camera to get it to fire shots every 2.5 seconds? Did you use continuous mode or something?

Also, what did you use as a mount for the camera?
