Dictators Don´t Wear Jeans (2007-10) part 1.
- a documentary about art, theatre, music and other forms of expression, as subversive nails of esthetic activism, and whether or not they make any difference. I am following events in Belarus with the Free Theatre of Belarus, the band N.R.M (National Republic of Dreams). I am in China with some dissident artists and writers, and in various countries where the Burmese underground band "Myanmar Future Generations" live and make their music, very powerful stuff and one of the favorite bands of Aung San Suu Kyi´s.
But does art matter? Does art as political force matter? Do anyone listen to art, music etc. as something that might budge the doors of powers just a little bit?
I did this film to inspire you to believe it might make a difference.
