Angela Jo Medina, Board President at Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas joins I Live Here, I Give Here this month to discuss Financial Literacy in Austin.

The Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas (FLCCT) was formed December, 2001, under the leadership of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Travis County. Twelve community leaders voted the FLCCT's first slate of officers and adopted its vision statement: "To be recognized as a trusted, unbiased, and credible source of personal financial information." To date we have taught over 3,500 Central Texans how to develop a household budget, control excessive spending and debt, implement a savings and investment plan, purchase a home, and send a child to college.
