Talal Ismail is an Iraqi artist living in Sweden. He is the leader of the Sumer group and has been involved in training Scandinavian artists to sing Iraqi folk songs in Arabic since 1996.
This Iraqi Mawaal is a variation on Iraqi Maqam. It is a melancholic love song, lamenting lost love that ended before it could ever have started.
