Building bridges between UK and Pakistan is at the core of a recent partnership project between the British Council and social enterprise Offscreen Expeditions.
Six 18-21 year-olds from the UK were chosen to explore Pakistan away from the headlines, travelling across the country meeting students, artists, social entrepreneurs, imams and politicians.
Recording every minute along the way, the group created a first-hand portrait of Pakistan to educate and inspire peers in the UK through a series of films which are now available to watch online at youtube.com/offscreenexpeditions.
In this episode the team visited Mirpur, a region in Pakistan with strong links to Britain, to see some social action projects.
These projects are run through the British Council’s Active Citizen programme as part of an initiative called Apna Forum apna-forum.com which works to enhance understanding between Mirpur and the UK.
