Shabat Shalom is my fourth short and it was filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The project was selected for shooting by my directing professors at the film university of Argentina (F.U.C.).

My idea was to develop a story that unraveled in a dinning room so I could solve the problems I had in the dinning roomscene in La fiesta del 35 (vimeo.com/1828636).

Being jewish, I felt the need to adress the topic of the Holocaust since my generation is the last one to be in direct contact with survivors. I wanted to explore the weight of the Heritage and the way in which it affected us.

It was record in DV with the DVX-100 PANASONIC.

    Very good lighting and editing.
Also I liked the small family drama.
    Keeps you watching.
the more important thing is, this is
a good introduction to Jewish Culture
    and Psyche .
We should never forget the lessons from
Holocaust and all genocides or we will
    continue living them.

Thanks Kamil, I agree with you

Argentina is so far away from my home, thanks for bringing us intimate documentary of this small community forgotten in my part of the world.
I heard there is a Armenian community in Argentina who suffered a genocide. Can you shoot another documentary on them next time. We would like to know the human suffering of forgotten genocides.

You welcome Adam, I will do my best.

I have to add there was Guatemalan Genocide
of Mayan Indian natives nobody knows and
a genocide happening right now in Darfur
    nobody cares.
This is a shame for our human civilization.

Funny, sad, bitter, daring - all rolled into one. You have portrayed very well how the weight of the past is not always appreciated by its younger inheritors. Good work.
  • JORGEFRIED 3 years ago
    Heather,
Glad you take it in a right way, as I told before it's important to keep what happen alive, we are the last generation in real contact with survivors from the Holocaust so it's about us what's going to happen from now on.
    Best.

    Jorgefried,

Thanks for inviting me to see your work; I really like this short film! I am an Indian and I am very much close to one Jewish family. I know them very closely. Recently three weeks ago I did their son’s “Bar Mitzvah" ceremony shooting, and I come to know how this ceremony actually happens! This was wonderful experience to me; I have seen it first time. Let me ask them if I can upload short part of it here, if they allow I will upload here.

In India we have Jewish family in various part of country, they are indeed nice peoples!

    Thanks again.

    Jorgefried,

I am glad you like the video, and I would really appreciate if you let know your friends about this video.

I love your country Argentina, so you born and grow there? Or juts you stay there?

Recently Football legend Maradona was in Calcutta (India) and people are there become mad after seeing him! Infect Maradona was also amazed by greeting from Indian fans! He never knows that he is actually too much popular in this part of world!

He told while he was leaving that he will come with good time again with his family!
