The Wrinkles of the City is a global project aimed to be presented in various cities around the world in which “wrinkles”, human as well as architectural, are on display.
Through this adventure, JR links the memory of the elderly and the architecture of the cities marked by the scars of history, their economic development, their socio-cultural changes. In 2010, after the city of Cartagena in Spain (2008) the project travelled to Shanghai where ultra-modernity is mixed with ruins.
Wrinkles of the city est un projet international visant à être présenté dans différentes villes autour du monde ou les rides, humaines et architecturales peuvent être trouvées. Avant Shanghai en 2010, JR a collé the Wrinkles of the city à Carthagène en Espagne (2008). A travers cette aventure, JR cherche à transmettre la mémoire des anciens à travers l’architecture morcelée des villes marquées par les cicatrices de l’histoire, leur développement économique, leur changement socio-culturel. A Shanghai, l’ultra modernité côtoie parfois les ruines.
