thinly veiled.......money seems to be standing for less and less nowadays...central banks greed is finaly made apparent. The stench of ill gotten gains is becoming harder to mask.

You paint you draw, because of compulsion, because of experimintation because of joy.... don't stop exporing, don't fight your gut instincts and don't stop enjoying it.

As for animation it's work it's vision and its madness all combined sounds right up your street!!

And then there's JS Boggs who draws currency and spends it for the face value of his drawings...then sells the transaction to art collectors:

This was really nice....wonderful drawings...true emotions.

  • I agree with you. Why should we make pictures? Is it all just transmuted money/time/product? That's a disheartening view to have, but the fact that you drew 1000 heads and expressed that view through this video makes inspires me to draw, which is a skill/activity I've let slide for nearly two years. And continue to make videos, which I've been tempted to ditch as well for the same reason. What is live action but automated animation after all?
  • Alex Itin plus 1 year ago
    right

I meant to quote goddard here
Cinema is the truth 24 times a second
and or a lie the same rate.

Besides the video, are the drawings for an actual physical show in an actual physical space? Curious.

When I was little, I only watched animation because it wasn't real. I couldn't see the point of watching real people on TV. Or even realistic animation.

I still love animation for its escapism and lack of rules, but you're right, every now and again I find myself admiring the amount of work. Maybe because I'm a grown up. Or sober.

    labor not love
people tricking other people into thinking it is love
cartoons tricking kids into knowing love

there have been way too many animations based on cuteness

i watched the video without the sound track and something happens, something makes sense way beyond the thoughts you express; nothing against those thoughts per se but a shame if they actually mask the power of all of those faces which you made.( ps. animation / anima to give anima to, to animate, to give therefore a certain element of life to)
    pps thanks for the video!

I guess that's why we're here. Still I think most art is full of contradictions and let's face it, Bill is probably an unreliable narrator, or just a self loathing animation.

Is is possible to order 100 frames C.O.D. and to deliver them to Germany? How high are the freight costs?

    ;-))
  • Alex Itin plus 1 year ago
Just the cost of posting a 100 page document.... I'd imagine about 20 Euro or so by FedEx, or Whoever?
    Not sure about C.O.D., however.

Just started watching vimeo tonight. I love the stark simplicity of yours. Way more enjoyable to me than all the fancy computer animation. Art should be playful work.
    Thanks.

I came on here thinking it would be revolution of form and content.
people's reels don't interest me so much.

    But I like Goddard

    but I also love Fellini
