The Centre for Health Science Annual Lecture was held on Thursday 18th November 2010 and presented by Garry Coutts, Chair of NHS Highland and recently appointed Rector of the prospective University of the Highlands & Islands. Garry Coutts delivered a compelling lecture providing a visionary perspective on the ‘Future of Healthcare in the Highlands and Islands.’ The event was chaired by Ken Proctor, Associate Medical Director. A personal address by video was made by Nicola Sturgeon, MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing. Alex Paterson, Chief Executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, provided an overview of the life sciences sector in the region. The first Centre for Health Science Award was also presented at the lecture.
