Music Clip "Returning Juvenile" [Re-edit 1]
Hi everyone, this is a whole lot of 'firsts' for me. The clip is of my son Daniel and his friend Travis, both 14 years old. While on a recent visit I recorded two of their songs and shot the footage [indoor] for one film clip.
Drummer Donovan Gall and bass player Jukka Malmburg, both local members of "Tribe World Ensemble" [my band] generously gave their time and energy to the project.
The music recordings took several days and we had to shoot the footage for the clip in a very fast paced 3 hour 'seat of the pants' style.
I had Nancy [my partner] assisting with bounce boards and light moves and I concentrated on getting footage off the Miller tripod and the Flycam unit.
Most of the light is my fluorescent soft box kit, with a 250 watt incandescent [3000 kelvin] Philips dish reflector as the key light.
I made the decision to create the video as a black and white presentation basically simply because I like the look.
Edited in Sony Vegas with no effects or corrections [except for Black and White plug in]
I would really appreciate any thoughts or help with this. I may do a re-edit if the need is there. At this stage its for Internet use, so I am not looking for broadcast specs, however I do want it to look 'the goods'.....just for the boys more than anything.
Over to you......

Excellent work! I can see this on RAGE!
At first I thought the clip was a bit dark but Richard didn't seem to think so, and by the end of it I changed my mind :)
Some nice side on shots and enough variation for it to not become too static.
I think you did really well for the little time in which you had to shoot it.
My 12 old and 18 year old daughters watched it and were suitably impressed.
They asked lots of questions :)
Anyway, good job all round.
PS - The flycam worked well for this. I thought it suited the whole style - I didn't find it distracting to the eye.
Now.. I have a question.. the flycam.. cool! is that like a steadicam? Your 'handheld' shots looked great!! I will definitely have to look into this!
