Demonstration video for the ALIVE Project (MIT Media Laboratory, 1992-1993).
This was one of my earliest forays into computational design and interactive art, developed while an undergraduate research assistant at MIT. I was brought in to the ALIVE team, to help contribute interactive assets for an early computer-vision project.
Starting from 1'45", you can see me demonstrating a vision-based interaction with a series of bloblike creatures, which flock towards my hand. In collaboration with Pushpinder Singh I developed these blobs as a closed Bezier form, scaffolded by a set of interconnected springs.
