A comparison of Played Films' 2005 experimental film Bicycle Malefactor with Evan MacCarthy's 2006 experimental film Dreaming of Sam.

Played Films created Bicycle Malefactor as an extracurricular project between 2004 and 2005.

Evan MacCarthy created and submitted Dreaming of Sam to Dr. Kevin Anderson, Ph.D. in 2006 for academic credit in an experimental film course first proposed by John Kuchta of Played Films in 2005.

Several Clark University students suggested that Professor Anderson review Bicycle Malefactor when considering Dreaming of Sam. Evan MacCarthy received full credit for Dreaming of Sam.

At the time, Played Films consisted of Glenn Teel, Dan Bowhers, Nugget and John Kuchta.
