A hackerspace is a place where geeks (a term used lovingly) of all types (programmers, designers, IT, engineers, crafters, electricians) can get together in a physical space and work on projects, bouncing around ideas and feeding off of each others' creative energy. There are regular meetings for members, and most hackerspaces also hold classes so that its members can learn new skills from each other.
