Declared "decidedly, even exuberantly unconventional" by the Washington Post, UMSO brings new life to Stravinsky's Petrushka with a dancing orchestra, puppets, and film. This collaboration between the UM Symphony Orchestra and artist Doug Fitch is part of the UM School of Music New Lights Initiative, which calls upon UM students and faculty to re-envision the concert experience with the goal of generating greater engagement between the audience, musicians and music.
