In 2007 six students from the Glasgow University backed by Students Volunteers Abroad cooperated with the Crafts Council of Karnataka to set up and run a nine week long craft development project in rural India. In a village called Kinnal sitaued in the Koppal district, close to the tourist hotspot Hampi. Here the Kinnal Craft is practiced. The aim of the workshop was to train villagers, predominantly women, to learn the craft and take on small production runs afterwards. The role of the participating students was to learn the craft and explore development possibilities to broaden the product range. This video captures the impressions and experience of living in an indian village.
