    Indeed, Tesla did "discover" this over 100 years ago (as is discussed in the paper). The goal of this work was to show that we could use this simple technology in a straight-forward way, using off-the-shelf components (stuff any EE would have laying around the house) to build a system that is an enabler for swarm-robotics research -- specifically, allowing researchers to ignore the problems associated with battery recharging and instead focus on making cool, interesting applications.

    I think it is somewhat unfair to say that nothing is great about this. It is true that Tesla was a pioneer in this, but the fact is we remember Tesla today in retrospect but he was ostracized later and died penniless, people had similar views about his schemes at that time (what is so great kinda). So, come on let us give due credit to good work.
    But the beauty of this project lies in its simplicity. It can be implemented with ease by amateur hobbyists too if you look at the paper details.
    It just a small step, with improvements it can mean a lot to SI research.
