This performance is where light and shallow meet darkness and tragedy, it is the story of Mabel or the Queen of Bones. Mabel is a diva and a daredevil, a rough woman without remorse. She is flesh and bones of a rare femininity: playful, boundless, straightforward womanhood. Mabel celebrates her total femininity with fireworks: there is no regret, and sacrifice is not a virtue!
In her three year STAGE ANIMALS project Liisa Pentti explores the force of becoming visible, the performer’s eternal paradox between the two wills, both to be covered and yet to become disclosed.
