The Pig Farmer is a short animated cartoon by Nick Cross. A simple tale of a wayward soul, awash in an ocean of tragedy and regret.

Animated using Flash CS3 and a Cintiq 21UX tablet.
Backgrounds done in Photoshop CS4
Composited using After Effects CS5 and Final Cut Pro 5.

Hi, in case you didn't know that sign in Nick's film is a reference to the sadistic sign outside the Auschwitz concentration camp: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arbeit_macht_frei
Although I'm not sure what Nick was representing with it on the pig farm.
It's a great little touch.

it's probably a reference to george orwell's animal farm, in which farm animals rebel and overthrow human ownership, and the pigs set up an oppressive regime not unlike their predecessor

With the foxes and pigs, I came away with a Maus feeling. Really liked the implied lighting in the tones of your renderings - very nice art direction and production value.

Man, what does it feels to be the best doing the thing that you love the most?
