By tracing the development of the Justice icon -- from the scales of the Egyptian Maat to the contemporary image of blindfolded Lady Justice -- so can you map the evolution of adjudication into its modern form, say authors Judith Resnik and Dennis Curtis in “Representing Justice: Invention, Controversy, and Rights in City-States and Democratic Courtrooms.”
The images displayed in this audio slideshow – many of which do not appear in the book -- derive from the collection of the Yale Art Gallery, on display in its study galleries in spring 2011.
