RETHINK - CONTEMPORARY ART & CLIMATE CHANGE
RETHINK is a major showcase of new media and interactive art. One of the participating artists is Janine Randerson from New Zealand. In September 2008 she visited the Danish National Environmental Reseach Institute (NERI/DMU) to collaborate with scientists on a new artwork for RETHINKs Nordic exhibition.
From the far North and South regions of our planet, this exhibition brings together award-wining artists, designers and scientists working with myriad climate change inspired topics.
The exhibition looks into the impact of creative experimentation as a vital source of climate solutions. It shows energy-use visible and energy behaviors palpable. It traces the individual and collective actions creative people have taken to raise global warming awareness. It challenges old perceptions and make-believes.
Through the iconic and evocative language of art, the exhibition speaks movingly and powerfully about the diversity, efficacy, relatedness and intrinsic inter-dependence of our biophysical, social and electronic habitats.
