Charles Huettner's videos
This is not the official music video. It's just a fan video I made.

The song is "Water Curses" by Animal Collective. I started making this in an attempt to learn Flash cs3. There are two basic layers in this animation, a flash layer at 24fps, and a stop motion powderd charcoal layer at 12fps. They are mixed together in nifty ways with After Effects.

    As I it see this video it kind of contains tre stories, acting in the backgroundlayer, the frontlayer and the two layers together. It looks really beautiful, and the idea of moving and drawing with the charcoal is genious.

    That was beautiful. Incredible really. I love it very much. Thanks for taking the time and having the patience to make something like this. That was obviously a lot of effort. Definitely worth it, in my opinion. Wonderful work!

    Splendid. I've made Animal Collective MVs myself, so I know that visually accompanying their music requires a very particular approach. And well, you nailed that here.

    Also, I noticed that this was somewhat reminiscent of the opening credits of the movie, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Was that intentional?

    Ive never watched the movie actually. But I just checked out the intro on youtube. Youre right there are some similarities. kinda cool.

    Thanks Anugrah. I actually had a good 20 seconds finished before i even thought about what music to put over it. water curses just fit so naturally on its own.
