Some more experimentation with the JVC taken at Lesmurdie falls not far from where we live.
Unfortunately I/we used the wrong shutter speed when it came to filming the faster falls.
It ended up looking like it was crimped - hence why I have slowed THAT footage - (in the middle section) down...seems to minimise the results of our mistakes.

Music is by Enya - "waterfall".

    Lovely Lovely Lovely.

Looks like we were both out filming water and the landscape at the same time you doing Spring, and me doing Autumn. A fair swap after all eh? Nice.

I think the slomo waterfall in the middle works quite well, I like a bit of slow motion!

Strange, how unfamiliar that land is to me. The shapes, the colours, the vegetation and the light. Lovely to see though. Thanks guys!

    Bright blessings to you both

    Thanks Wayne.
I can't wait till we move back over the east coast again.
I miss the even more different vegetation over there - more tropical.
This is the last of the "green" we will see here for a while.
The amazing thing about WA is that summer brings almost no rainfall and the dry heat seems to scorch everything brown, whereas over on the east things stay green in summer and you get these incredible tropical thunderstorms.
    God I miss THOSE!

Tracy its beautifull! The problem is always contrast, thats why framing is so important and you did this very well!

Some very good shots indeed, there Tracy, I really liked the waterfall footage, so don't beat yourself up about it, it's great!

Thanks Greg.... I'll know next time to play with the shutter speed more - all just another step in the learning process! :)

It's all a learning process; even the top pros never stop. Providing that learning remains fun, though, it's all good.

You have this camera seriously sorted Tracey. This REALLY shows what the cam is capable of (and you of course). Magical!
  • Tracy Lundgren 1 year ago
    Thanks Bruce.
No, lol, I really don't have this camera thing "sorted" yet.
I'm getting there...but I still rely on "luck" a lot of the time too! :)

The best advice I was ever given by anyone about anything came from my woodwork teacher at school: "If you can't hide it, make a feature of it". Which is exactly what you've done with the slo-mo sequence in the middle. Lovely!

I traipsed down a very steep hill to get to those waterfalls so darn it, I was gonna use the footage however I could, lol, because I wasn't going to break my neck to get back down there again!
    :)
    Thanks for watching.

This is a really nice film Tracy! If you hadn't mentioned your shutter speed 'mistake' I would have never noticed since the slo-mo worked so well! Excellent shot composition! Plus.. AUDIO!!! it's a refreshing change to see a 'music video' that uses natural sound from the camera microphone!
    Very well done!
