Five years have past since the "2500 km in Space!" ("2500 km avaruudessa!") performance was executed in Tampere, Finland. It is time to grant online access to the documentation of the performance.
Each frame on this video represents one day of the performance which lasted 85 days. For 7 days a week, working for 35h per week (each day having a legally marked 30min lunch break), I walked back and forth the four meter long pedestal. As the trip progressed every meter was illustrated on a map of planet Mars where I headed from Noctis Labyrinthus to the top of Olympos Mons.
Video is compiled out of dia frames and a HD version of the video is planned.
The Trans-Mars Group included 13 members of fellow art students, a space enthusiast from the Ursa of Tampere tampereenursa.fi/ and a designer who crafted a jewelry set "Olympos Mons" (oshipala.com) in homage of the performance.
