Nature shots made with the I-Movix Sprintcam v1, during the Grandeur Nature film festival 2006 edition.

Most of them are 1000FPS, bees on purple flowers are 3000FPS, as well as the final flame shot.

Great visuals, but I would of picked a different song, maybe something classical. This sounds like a PORNO....
  • David Coiffier plus 1 year ago
I understand what you mean ;)
I liked it, as it was very slow, intimate, and kinda loop based.
Now, if you have a serious proposition, I'd like to hear it. Feel free to take the downloadable file, remove audio track, put yours in it, & up it on your account, with a link to this original version...

    Thx for your comment

im not doing all that lol.
I just thought it sounded like a porno lol.

Its a little soft? What lens you used?
  • David Coiffier plus 9 months ago
Photo lenses were used (Nikon mount), but softness comes from the CMOS sensor being only 1024 pixels wide on this now old camera model...

hey david, i have a camera that will film 2000fps but after i put the it into final cut pro it plays back in 30fps can you please tell me how to fix this! thanks

    P.S. i love this video!
  • David Coiffier plus 7 months ago
I don't get it...would you wanna play back at 2000fps ? it would be just a realtime video...
    Gimme more explanations please.

    And thx for your comment!
  • Ben Unger 7 months ago
Its kind of hard to explain. I guess what im saying is when I set the speed to 30% or so in final cut and play it back there is no discernable difference between a clip shot in 60i at 2000fps and clip shot in 30p at 48fps and I dont know why that is?
  • David Coiffier plus 7 months ago
What camera model are you playing with ? 2000fps is not that common...
  •
  • Ben Unger 7 months ago
    It is a DVX100b
  • David Coiffier plus 7 months ago
OK, Ben. I've had a quick read on DVX100B.
Unless I missed something, where the heck did you see that you can do ANY VARISPEED with this camera ? Except switching from 60 to 25 or 24fps, there's no way to get hispeed recording...

Furthermore, 2000fps is totally out of range for any video camera, except very expensive, dedicated models.

I'm sorry if this information drives you disappointed, but you see no difference, because there is not :/
  • Ben Unger 7 months ago
Oh my god, i was thinking the shutter speed was A measure of frames per second, but i realize now that 60i was my true frame rate!

Thanks for helping me out David!

Another stunning clip David, great work, wish i had a friend like yours :D

Ben, the closest you will get any highspeed camera with an average wallet is the this Casio exilim.eu/euro/exilimhighspeed/exf1/

1200fps, but in very low resolution, you can get almost 600x400 with a little slower speed, but yet enough to produce something cool enough to impress the guy next door ;-)

This and Pixals Revenge are both awesome, would make killer screen savers(hint, hint). I was fascinated with the way a draginfly's wings actually move! I would love more of them!
  •
  • ann mcdaniel 7 months ago
Really good screensavers cost, they aren't free, unless they come with adds. You have to upgrade to the payed version to get rid of the adds. A screensaver with a decient run time before the repeat would probably do well, but make it all one subject--Birds, bugs, fire, water, mountains etc. A bunch of disassociated subjects would be confusing for a screensaver, unlike the films.

  • David Coiffier plus 6 months ago
Hello René! Actually, you can find some other slomo caps, here on my Vimeo pages. All of them are freely downloadable (link is bottom right on every video page) and quality is way over online flash encoding.
Depending on your intend to use them, please be aware that most shots are legally copyrighted...

btw, kmh and René both sound very... frenchy. Are you french ? In case you are, french language is allowed here ;)
  • 27kmh 6 months ago
    Thanks David.
    I´m form Chile.
I got some examples in .mov in the website of the camera. I´d like to watch the final of this shots. extended versions, nothing more and other shots.
    Thanks for your answer.

Damn, if only you'd have been around many many years ago when I used to eat LSD on a semi-regular basis. WOW.

As always, nothing short of incredible. And the music is perfect.
