While I was travelling around Indonesia I came upon a little village in the east that still hunts whales by hand with traditional methods. This little village is miles away from what Japanese whalers are doing. I and two other travellers got a chance to go out hunting with them. We caught two whales. The next morning the whales were divided among all the families, who use it as currency to buy vegetables and rice.
