Wow! This short film really makes me treasure what I have, but at the same time not want what I have but to want to give it away to those who are less fortunate. It is so good to see these people smile from your visit. God Bless, and let your work spread throughout the world!
  • Love Light & Melody 2 years ago
Thanks Leah - we hope you get to see the full-length film sometime soon (it's premiering at Cinequest next month). There's lots of ways to help out, but if you want a place to start, go here:

Looks like a worthy effort, but is being cheerful enough? They might raise awareness, but what can actually be accomplished? I would think the source of the problem is the structure of society - its institutions, leaders, social classes, etc. How do you change these things?

I have a mix opinion. Great movie but I am always sceptical when I see this kind of operation - who get the benefits of it? The organisators or those poor people?
Maybe both… Also some may argue it's better than nothing, especially for those unfortunates plus it send a "message" to the world. Yeah right…
  • Love Light & Melody 2 years ago
Thanks for asking. The costs to produce "Day of Light" were covered entirely by a board member of Love Light & Melody. No donations were used to create the film. Any revenue from the film will go to benefit the people of La Chureca.

Amazing cinematography at the beginning. The rise-ups and pans of the desolate vistas. Moving visuals with harmonious music. Well done, you got my attention.

It is a gorgeous testimony of what people struggle in poor areas of Latin america, Nicaragua in this case. I don't get what is the relevance of have a dance with poor children maybe a new trailer could improve in what is exactly the mission you are intended to do.

I've spent time in Chureca, and I've never seen it documented as well as it has been through LL+M. Well done my friends.

Quick question: last I heard, the Spanish government was doing some crazy things in Chureca. What's the situation now?

    Warmest,
    -Chris
