Glebe Park is a reserve I pass every day on my way home from work, a great little patch of parkland on the edge of Bega. Driving by as darkness fell one evening, I was overwhelmed by an army of bats flying very low overhead. I came back next day and caught the bats waking up for the evening. I was amazed at how long it took for them to wake up, some started stretching their wings, but then folded them up again to sleep a little longer, like hitting the snooze button on the alarm. Some wouldn't be roused at all, happily unaware of the wind buffetting them about.
