This is the first in a series of musical robots to be created with found objects. Each robot is designed with parts that were not intended to be musical. Eventually, I intend to create an entire cabaret act with these robots. In this piece, I am interested in the contrast and comparison of human/organic movement to the mechanical. The means of creating sound, piezo contact mics on the floor, is similar to how I interacted with human modern dancers in a previous work, but the results are strikingly different.
