On April 21, 2010, after more than twenty years of dreaming, reading, planning, hoping, delaying, and anticipating, I started hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.

I took a unique approach and spent time enjoying towns, meeting people, and exploring the Appalachian roadways and communities beyond the wilderness path.
