    Who is the music?

I forgot to post that. His name is Brad Senne and he is used in the last short film I did as well. Please buy his album if you like his music.

great video and bonus points for using a magnatune artist! dslr video is truly amazing me ... do you find the form factor "strange" when shooting video?
  •
  • Jason Zada 1 year ago
not really.... people look at you funny when you are walking around with it following people and keeping it steady. All in all, it takes a little getting used to, and you have to rack focus constantly if you want the DOF.

yea the focusing is a nightmare, but once you get the hang out of it , its not so bad.

Hey Steve - I use Magic Bullet Looks for most of the color work. You can get some great results in FCP 3 Way Color Corrector as well.

Hey thanks for the info that is really helpful. Final Cut Pro 3....Cool
you going to do a video for halloween of your kid(s) trick or treating? that would be cool
I was thinking I could get some clean footage with my D90 and f/1.4 lens this year.
Last year I tried using a camcorder and got nothing except when the kids came into the street lights.
I'm assuming that was your kid at the pumpkin patch.

Do you know what would be comparable for PC?
    Thanks,
    Steve

This is great. It's hard to think a) this is california and b) it is fall...
For someone (like myself) from Michigan... this video seems too warm to be so close to halloween. haha

Very nice! This is why I bought my D90 - short little vignettes like this.

    I love the look.
It reminds me of an old photograph. Very nostalgic.

awesome color. just perfect. same with the dof; give us that small detail from the whole picture (the stiffness of the hay, her hair swirling about, etc.)

    very well done.

Enjoyed this, especially the color quality and the "mind photograph" feel of the D90. How much trouble is maintaining the focus. Also, does the D90 just let you "turn on" and "turn off" the video and just get the small HD clips.

Thanks for positing, nice Halloween feeling for all of us outside the US.

    Beautiful footage.
Didn't know you could accomplish that with a SLR cam until recently... I'm impressed.

Also, what lens did you use? What f-stop, if you still remember? Thank you!

Jason, this is good imagery! I was wondering if you get any kind of moire effect with the D90? A lot of HD cameras have it but I don't think I have seen this with any D90 footage.
