The town of Livermore existed from about 1875 to the 1950s. It was a company owned logging town and the mill was shut down in the late 1920s. At it's peak, there were over 200 employees living in the town, numerous homes for employees, a power house, a school, charcoal kilns, a store, a mansion for the owners, an engine house, and more. What's left of the town is now part of the White Mountain National Forest.
