I love the door stop. The ending is well done.
  • AdamPellinDeeve 2 years ago
The door stop made a noise that didn't seem to fit with anything else but I used to enjoy making that noise so much when I was little, it had to have its own part.
  • Brown 2 years ago
My Gran used to have a doorstop like that and I loved playing with it

are you editing the video ala coldcut or mixing the soundtrack and then editing the video to it, either way very good,

    " what you doin?.......being a bloody genius! "
  • AdamPellinDeeve 2 years ago
The Coldcut method I think. The idea was to create the music and the video at the same time but I couldn't think of a comfortable way to display all the sound video loops together so I just cut between the layers.
  • dalas verdugo staff 2 years ago
I thought of Coldcut too. They aren't as well known here in the States.
  • boyridingosaurus 8 months ago
PURE GENIUS. had a thought on the same lines with sounds at home, but just don't have the ear to make a track of it all.

what is this Coldcut method in video editing you speak of?
am a big fan of the artist and a keen fcp user, but haven't come across any videos similar to this one in editing technique other than one hifana video: vimeo.com/2160506.
  • 3d60 8 months ago
the coldcut method .... is too use video editing software and practise to reinvent video anf accompaning soundtrack in to audio samples to build a track, so in essence tne visual is part and parcle of the sound and vica versa......?i fink?

you should check out vjamm software, it lets you perform stuff like this live. you can asign each element to a different key and build the beats up live. way more flexible that using a linear editing program.
  • AdamPellinDeeve 2 years ago
    I'll look it up. Thanks.
  •

I dare anyone to watch this 30 times and still have an eyball in the socket :)

this was amazing, how long did it take you to complete? it seems all the loops were recorded in the same afternoon but to edit? i've been contemplating doign a piece similar to this but i am afraid it will take me a whole month
  • AdamPellinDeeve 1 year ago
It was on and off outside of work so I'm not sure how long it would take as a nine to five but it was played with over the course of a month. It's not too tricky to produce. After you've made one loop, it can be repeated for as long as you like. Then you can step back and consider how to treat the loops rather than all the individual cuts if you see what I mean.

Do one with a car! I've been meaning to do one but my car doesn't have an alarm and I think it would definitely need an alarm as a bed with a techno door slam beat.
