YYYN experiment 14 will be shown on Thursday 27th September 2007 at the Roxy Bar and Screen in Southwark, London, where (A dog barks) will be holding a free evening screening of short films.
The screening, starting at around 7.30pm, will consist of a 70 - 90 minute programme of short films and continue until late by a DJ/VJ set.
i like this a lot. my initial thought (once i finished boppin my head) was "did that mean something that i missed?" that's not to say it needs to - cool images & music are great just for their own sake - but it seemed as if it was presented to signify something, and i didn't get that. if it's not supposed to mean anything, kudos on a very cool & entertaining piece! if it is supposed to mean something, i'm afraid i didn't understand.
either way though, the piece as a stand-alone is very cool!
Each of the sequences end with something that isn't to be considered wrong or bad, just arguably incongruous either as an observation or as a joke. There are a few sequences that don't quite work the same way as a reflection on their particular group. The complexity of the ideas and weight of debate that accompany them tends to increase with the rhythm. The overall video doesn't mean anything in particular. I wanted it to be entertaining and at the same time it was a personal exercise in creating a mechanism that communicates complicated ideas efficiently.
super cool, simply but stylized video. it almost seems like you composed the music with the concept in mind... or was it the other way around?
I wonder with which program you made that :D
