The consequences of knife and gang crime are far reaching and affect everyone in the community. Education is seen as key by parents, police and the Government in tacking these social problems.

The Big Question is an educational resource to equip teaching staff with the means to discuss knife and gang crime in the classroom and to encourage children to identify issues that should be addressed to keep young people safe. This follows on from the successful ‘Stolen Lives’ secondary gangs pack which prompted calls from young people and practitioners to produce a similar resource aimed at younger children.

The Big Question takes its name from a group of primary pupils from Buxton, St Saviours, Southgrove and Hillyfield Primary School in Waltham Forest. This group has guided the development of the project and their big question is...
