Growing up in her parents' store, it's easy to imagine 5-year-old Linda Mihara learning origami at their knee. The Mihara family owned a publishing and importing business in the 1950's. Founded in 1968, it sits in the heart of Japantown (Nihonmachi) which in 1855 was a sandy barren subdivision of San Francisco populated by bobcats, coyotes, quail and chaparral.
