A Dallas Police Department officer was slightly injured on Sunday morning while trying to arrest a bar patron inside the Sugar Shack.

The injured officer, whose name is being withheld, told other officers he was struggling on the Sugar Shack floor while trying to arrest a patron when someone hit him on the back of the head with a beer bottle.

Dallas Fire/Rescue teams already on the street for TX-OU problems treated him at the DPD staging area near Taco Cabana and then transported him to the hospital for further examination of the wound on the lower portion of his scalp (above the shirt neckline) Stitches were not required.
