Inspired by the trailer for Jon Favreau's "Cowboys & Aliens" film, I created a short VFX shot using greenscreen elements filmed on my Canon 550D/T2i, a photograph I took while on honeymoon in Venice and a multipass CG render out of Maya's mental ray.

I saw this shot as a good chance to practice many VFX skills including:

- object tracking in PFTrack

- Maya modelling, rigging, animation

- Maya lighting & multipass rendering in mental ray

- camera projection in Maya & Nuke

- Nuke's 3D environment

- greenscreen keying & roto in Nuke
