Glass Reunion is a short film made for the 24 Hour Shootout Boulder 2008.
The Cinema Geeks team competed against 50 other teams and came out winning Best Film and Best Cinematography/In-Camera Edit.
The rules of the Boulder Shootout require that the film be shot in-camera (meaning we could not edit), and filmed in only 7 hours within the alloted 24 hour time period.
In order to prove that we filmed in the 24 hours, teams are required to include 5 of 11 items in the film. These include locations, props, and a line of dialogue. Here are the things we used.
1. Shaggy Dog
2. American Flag
3. Split Rock Sculpture on Boulder's Pearl St. Mall
4. Obama or McCain campaign sign, commercial, etc.
5. Phrase by Paul Newman from 'The Color of Money'- "Money won is twice as sweet as money earned"

Our team has been working together on short films and in short filmmaking contests like the Boulder Shootout for several years. We came up with the rough story only 5 days before shooting and then refined it as Jeff wrote the script during the first hours of the competition. After getting only 2 hours of sleep, we met up in Boulder at the historic Columbia Cemetery at 7am. We filmed in some pretty cold and rainy weather that morning, which really worked with the story.
As the director of the film, I a really proud of the final product, but more proud of the work and collaboration I had with my friends within that week of writing and making the film. I hope you all like it.
