Musical Sand explores the edge between the physical and the digital. People’s drawings in the sand generate different sounds, colors and minimalist shapes. The installation alludes to a digital Zen garden, translating drawings into colors and sounds. It is also a tribute to Ipanema beach’s influence on Brazilian music. Multiple people can interact to collaborate on one design.
