So since watching this a week ago, I started using "Start" dates. Before I just ignored them. What a difference a week makes! Using start dates improves your mental health. No more guilt-inducing due dates that are not really due dates, and I can hide the stuff I don't want to look at until a date in the future. This is really helpful. Can't believe I have been using OF this long and not realized the power of start dates. I just thought they were another level of noise, much like Merlin thinks of the duration and flag fields. To each his own, but seriously, start playing with the start dates as Merlin describes.

I was "OmniFocused" on the people in the background. Kept making me look for a button on my browser to click "Availability Filter :: Merlin Mann".

Other than that ... As MinimalMac said, perspectives is how to make a tool that does EVERYTHING out of the box do exactly what you need it to and not a penny more.

Hm, it would be nice to see a little more of the screen. I don't quite really understand Mann's setup in his paycheck/go shopping example. How exactly could we setup that dependency? Does it work on an iphone or with the desktop version too or is it bound to location specific perspectives on the ipad?
