Large financial institutions are increasingly incorporating user experience professionals into the teams behind state-of-the-art applications such as trading and risk management systems. Such systems, which are often used in a stressful work environment, need to support rapid decision making and present large amounts of diverse data, a topic that will sound familiar to those working in enterprise search. This talk aims to offer a glimpse into the world of UX in London's financial district and will discuss working as a UX professional in the Financial Services industry, the trading floor work environment and its impact on user interfaces, and design guidelines for developing user interfaces for financial software.
