    Tedd, it looks cool!
Did you tried to add some texture with alpha applied on foam? So it will be more natural... maybe like this ^__^
    youtube.com/watch?v=Mv4UtLTp2B4
Or is it possible to create foam with different (more dense) resolution than waves?

Thanks Moolah, yes you're right the foam needs some texturing, right now it is a plain white material. Probably a bump map of some kind and little colouring would help. I tried playing with an animated foam video texture, but our waves move in multiple directions, and the video texture can only move in on direction across the entire mesh, so does not look real. Thanks for the feedback, still working on it!

It could be solved if we could dynamicaly generate particles from different foam texture frames. But as I know - for now this feature isn't animated yet. Though Particle Textures feature was implemented for 2.56 just two weeks ago so... maybe we'll see some development in this way later :)
P.S. I tried to set something trough Warp - don't if this will be something good.

    Superb looking.

I wonder if we can get the ocean sim Blender from SVN so that i can compile it to use with V-Ray.

@Moolah - yes the particle textures addition may be the answer, but I haven't tested it out yet to see if it goes far enough for what we need.

@EH - thanks! currently our builds and patch aren't on the blender projects site yet, but the patch is available at our site savetheoceansim.com/builds/

I'm not sure that it will helps right now. Jahka told on his blog:
"Time, lifetime and density can't work with animated textures as these are static particle properties that are created at the very beginning of the simulation. Animating these may become possible later, but for now you'll have to do with the other values."
I just rendered my .blend and it looks normal.. not "wow!" But maybe... with some compositing it will not have so obvious stencil look. Not bad maybe... for those who don't know how it was made :)
I'm guessing that you got almost the same results when played with texturing foam. A bit grainy but not so "smooth" as it was.
