Magen - Installation View

An Installation view of ‘Magen’ by Dor Zlekha Levy. 'Magen' is a five channels projections installation, originated from a series of photographs which was taken in Lebanon. The photographs depict Magen Abraham synagogue, located in the heart of Beirut. The artist had processed the various images into static projections spread through the room, as if echoing the space of the synagogue inside the gallery. The movement of the spectator through the space activates the work and charges it with meaning, in a way which produces a concrete place.

‘Magen’ was specifically optimized for Braverman Gallery, curated by Adi Gura. All the video and still documentation was made by Hila Ido. Special thanks to Amit Shemma.
